She had come with the intention of competing for the Biofioul Green Jersey in the points classification, but this goal was probably ruined by her fall on the first stage. However, Scarlett Souren quickly got back on track by winning the sprint finish on the second stage in Vitry-en-Charollais.
The 21-year-old Dutch rider thus earned herself more than just consolation at the end of a stage dominated by Julie Bego, but the peloton did not give the French team rider, former junior world champion (2023), too many illusions.
The overall standings therefore remain unchanged, while the third stage, Etang-sur-Arroux – Lugny, offers hilly terrain on the roads of Saône-et-Loire.
